V1

This little edit started out by me needing to get my mind of an other project for a minute. But I had too many good clips on my phone and laptop. It would have been a waste to just let them sit unwatched. In this first version I was just playing with what clips to put where, What would look good after that, this would look good at the end etc. The music was added because it was a new song that came out and I wanted something in the background. I have never used anything besides IMovie to try and make stuff like this and I loved it it was a lot of fun.

V2

In this installment I had some of my friends send me clips that they had and some I found deep in the vault. When I was working on this part I was looking more in-depth on the clips endings and beginnings. Trimming off any second that wasn't needed per-say. Music stayed the same I wasn't too concerned with it. I tried to also adjust the sound on the clips themselves making sure everything was at a happy medium and that the music wasn't too loud and the sound of the clips wasn't to loud.

V3

this is the " last " installment ( I say that but I actually don't know might come back to this at some point anything can get better right ? ) In this one I took out the original music and added a song I thought would sound pretty neat. Again trimming clips so they look crispy. The two shots of Jack were the angle switches was almost too perfect. I loved the way it came out. I can not wait to edit more things when good weather comes. Skate edits truly bring out the cinematographer in me.

An edit for a Friend

This short one minute was edited with instagram in mind, thats why its only 60 seconds and a lack of footage. Again this is just more practice you cant practice too much can you ? I wanted to have some older classic rap behind it. I try to make the most out of what I have on my laptop and phone.

Banjo Edit

I had a 30 second clip of my friend Kyle playing his instrument. I couldn't find a use for it since its not exactly skateboarding related. However I thought that a edit with some nice music behind it would be cool. This was just playing around with editing in someone playing an instrument making sure the cords line up to his movement. I posted this to my instagram and it seemed people enjoyed it. Id like to play around with more to edit and a longer section of Kyle playing.

Andrei's Edit

In this short edit I was making it for Andrei I played around with some quick jump cuts and a couple black screens for a split second just to add some character to the edit. I tired to align the music to the skating but with the short amount of clips I have its hard to really make it match correctly.

Live show edit

In this edit I used footage from a concert I went to a while ago along with the mp3 of the song from youtube to add the music and content to this edit. It was tricky with three cuts of the concert into the edit to make sure that the music match and there was no second voice singing. Making this one with clips of my own so I could post it to instagram so I tried to keep it under one minute. I was thinking about color correcting the videos of the concert but I wanted the real look of it.

WARNING: Bright flashing lights
Jack's Edit

In this edit I had one long clip of jack skating the same thing doing the same trick multiple times. Every time he did it I moved around the skatepark just to get random angles. I never thought about doing this until I started to play with it. The end result has five cuts in it. To some it might be hard to see what all happens it goes by fast, but if you show someone who skates they should get the basic idea.

Senior Edit

This edit I made because I wanted to show myself I can actually try to skateboard and sometimes when Im lucky it doesn't look like complete trash. No one will find these videos as entertainment but I don't really care. I never truly wanted to make movies, or news stories. Thats just not me. Im not interested in that stuff. some of its cool and some of it turns out pretty good. But for other kids they want to film what they are in love with. I think this class misses those students. The ones who want to film but not a movie or a story around BBA. I feel this class could expand itself into every corner of cinematography Give students more leeway They will produce better content.
